“Well I did it. I finally did it. I have officially lost over one hundred pounds. No surgery. No magic pill. No easy quick fixes. But it is simple: good nutrition and exercise (and a healthy dose of determination, sprinkled with good support). The other thing that jump started me was the introduction to CrossFit. Dave never made me feel like I did not belong. THAT IS KEY! I think when you are big, you never really feel like it is OK for you to be anywhere. I also really like CrossFit which obviously helps. I like everything about it. The intensity, the ability to have adult play time, the variety, but most importantly the community. My CrossFit friends are so so so influential. I firmly believe you adopt the habits of those you choose to associate with. I can’t thank you guys enough. Your support and encouragement means so much to me. Not to mention the countless times you tell me I am badass. I like to be badass.” — Melinda B, member since Jan 2009
“I wanted to let you know that I’ve tried keeping up with things this week. I was in Greenville, NC this weekend and decided to get a run/walk in. Well, everything there is flat — to make a long story short I ended up running three miles without stopping. It took forever – 48 minutes – but I did it. Today after I told Megan about my super human experience we hit a local park and ran 2.2 miles in 30 min. It was so much harder today because of the hills and I was ready to stop, but Megan helped me through it. It’s fun to grumble at you during the workouts but I did want to say THANK YOU for everything you have taught me. I never once in my life thought I could do the things that I do.” — Martha H, Weight Loss Bootcamp member since Nov. 2008
“I wanted to write to let you know that I reached my personal goal and today am wearing slacks that I “outgrew” last summer! This is inches off belly, hips and legs. When I started I couldn’t do even one pushup. Now I can do 3 sets of 10!” – Jan B, first time Bootcamper
“One year down of Crossfit Bootcamp and many more to come. The most important fitness program I have ever stuck with” — Beth L, Bootcamper since Spring 2009
“I really enjoyed working out at CrossFit and even though it might not be visible my strength and my motivation in workout out has grown a lot. Last Sunday I ran 2.5 miles without stopping at the Lake Johnson trail. I couldn’t believe it. It took me 35 minutes, but I never would have thought 2 years ago that I’d be able to run 35 minutes non stop in the heat as I did last Sunday. So: thanks, thanks, thanks! The biggest thing I learned from CrossFit is to suck it up and just keep pushing even when the workout is hard! The feeling of accomplishment afterwards is so good and I love it!” — Veronica B, Bootcamper since Nov. 2008
