Olympic Weightlifting Intensive

Here’s your chance to put some polish on your Olympic lifts during our 8-Week Course on the Snatch and Clean & Jerk!

Olympic Weightlifting is acknowledged by athletes far and wide as a potent and effective tool in training for speed and power. Unfortunately many athletes and trainers shy away from using the lifts due to the complexity of the movements, and many athletes never reach their full potential in these lifts due to faulty mechanics.

Beginning Tuesday, May 8th, participants will attend a total of 24 90-minute classes with USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Coach Ryan Brown drilling these lifts from every imaginable angle. Athletes will learn the movements in detail, incorporate drills for each lift, and analyze their technique on video to help get a good sense of what’s going right, what’s going wrong and how their mechanics can be improved to maximize the loads lifted.  Sessions will include a warm-up, mobility work, strength work and end with a brief conditioning session.

There are no minimum requirements or prerequisites to participate in this course.  Athletes of all experience levels are welcome. This class will be capped at just 8 participants to maximize personal attention and time under the bar.  Each athlete’s training program will be individualized according to their strengths and weaknesses.

Class Schedule
Tues/Thurs 6pm to 7:30pm and Sat 12pm to 1:30pm

Price: $400 for all 24 sessions (current CFD athletes will not have to pay their monthly membership fee while attending)

Here’s what a recent participant had to say about this Course:

“When I entered the Olympic lifting program at CFD as a relative beginner, I had a goal of snatching 135 pounds–I got to 140 before the end of the eight week session. My clean also increased from 180 to 187 pounds.
But beyond the actual numbers, the critical thing I’ve gotten and continue to get from the class is technique. We drill technique and lifting from all the positions, and hone in on subtle problems. For instance, I have a tendency to pull early in the clean, but working on cleaning from the knee (second position) has really helped me to isolate and lessen this problem.
Often now I can feel what went wrong in my lift before Ryan even tells me. Being able to feel the difference between correct and incorrect technique is going to lead me to lifting much bigger weights, and that’s exactly what I got from taking this course. I would strongly recommend this course to anyone who wants to improve their Olympic lifts, beginner or advanced. I signed up for the next 8 weeks, and with Ryan’s help I have no doubt I’ll reach my goal of snatching bodyweight!”
