*EXPANSION UPDATE*
Painting in the new room is just about finished…wall ball stripe to be added along with some touch up.  We still need to extend the wall ball stripe in the current space and paint the remaining section of the big wall (except for the logo)  Demo on the wall up by the garage door should take place on Monday, which will make room for our new “check in” area.  We began moving the platforms to the new space and reorganizing the gym mats.  Thanks for your patience as we get everything done over the next couple of weeks!

    Hey, y'all. Hope the Halloween party was fun last night. Jayme and I are up in snowy Washington DC visiting my parents. The nearby crossfit gym isn't open on Sundays, so we decided to hit up the gym in the basement of my parents' apartment complex. They have a few machines, treadmills, ellipticals, and dumbbells. We did some strength and skill work, and then hit a really short, really intense, really fun metcon. 10-8-6 Dumbbell snatches (would have done kettlebells if we had them) Burpees Jumping air squats. We stuck with even numbers so we could split the snatches between left and right hand. I did the dumbbell snatches with 40 lbs, but I should have gone up to 50 lbs, as it was the easiest part of the metcon. The whole thing only took me 3:43, and Jayme finished it a bit faster than that (3:20ish, I'd guess), but it was plenty. It doesn't sound like much, and it is over before you know it, but it's plenty. Make the snatches heavy, hit it fast, and don't let up until you're done.

    Hey Dave! Is there still a chance for yoga? I know that Brian has his place downstairs, but I don't think it's what most of us are looking for (or we would have already joined.) I would loooooove it if we could offer yoga as well. Perhaps yoga and pilaties could be back-to-back hours or one on Sat and the other on Sun?

      I'm working on Yoga (one that would be a good match for our athletes...more fitness, less "ohm"). We'll see what the response is to Pilates next Saturday before committing to it beyond that one day, but the plan is to offer it twice a week. So everyone who's interested should sign up for next Saturday!
