Just as an FYI, the name of this should be Pull, Push, Push. If you're doing the rowing movement correctly, it is very similar to a clean, and 70% of the movement is a Push, 20% is a Pry with the back, and 10% is a pull with the arm. It helps you engage your legs, which are much stronger than your arms, if you think of it as a Push, not a Pull. PS Dunsey & Mandy - apples-peaches-pumpkin-pie!!

Sarah, You'll have to explain the push, push part to me. I don't understand it... which is probably why I'm horrible at rowing. Oh... and Christmas shopping? Definitely for time.

Pretty sure Sarah means that the majority of the power of each rowing stroke comes from the PUSH of the legs initially off the flywheel which is then finished off with a PULL involving an extension of the back and arms. Oh and I'd be in for the Oly-lift seminar.

I'm glad I read this before I worked out today. I kept Sara's advice in mind and found my rowing to be much more efficient than I've ever done. It made a huge difference for me. "If you’re doing the rowing movement correctly, it is very similar to a clean, and 70% of the movement is a Push, 20% is a Pry with the back, and 10% is a pull with the arm."

Great tips Sara! Can you email me (finisonds@yahoo.com) your rowing "cheatsheet"/key points from the seminar. I don't think I'll ever see you at the gym since I'm usually Mr 6:15. On the shopping, its always a rest day for me (delegated to the wife) :) On the Oly Seminar, the price is steep for me for the same seminar as July. What if we could get 1/2 off for second time attendees like CF Certs?
