Fight Gone Bad began as a fundraising event in 2006. The first four editions of Fight Gone Bad have raised a combined total of more than $2 million.

Fight Gone Bad 5 opens its arms to benefit three charities this year: LIVESTRONG, Wounded Warrior Project and the CrossFit Foundation.

Individuals who raise $150 or more will receive an Official FGB 5 Event T-shirt after the event.

Event Name: OLYMPIC LIFTING SEMINAR W/GLENN PENDLAY
Event Date:  Saturday, October 16, 9am-4pm
Join renowned Olympic Weightlifting Coach, Glenn Pendlay, for a day-long seminar guaranteed to make you better at your lifts.  With proper technique Olympic liftin helps build explosive power and teaches athletes how to accelerate or receive a load whether it’s an object or another person.  The movements of the Oly lifts are common to many sports and performing these movements efficiently through proper technique increases an athlete’s ability to improve both performance and avoid injury.

This seminar will cover demonstrations, teaching progressions, and fault correction for the Snatch, the Clean, and the Jerk.  There will be plenty of hands on time on the bar, as well as an extensive Q&A Session with Glenn at the end of the day.

Class size is extremely limited to allow for lots of personal attention.

About Coach Glenn Pendlay
The Pendlay name is one of the most recognized in both Olympic Weightlifting and CrossFit communities.  Glenn received a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology and was taught the Olympic lifts by Mendeleyev in Moscow.  He has been coaching since 1995.  In 1999, Glenn  started a coaching program in Wichita Falls, TX that quickly became one of the top programs in the country, consistently winning team championships at national competitions, and regularly placing lifters on International teams.  Glenn is an International Level Coach and currently works with athletes in northern California.

Event Name: CROSSFIT GYMNASTICS CERTIFICATION
Event Date:  Saturday/Sunday, December 4-5, 2010, 9am-5pm
This certification will educate you in basic gymnastic movements which in turn will allow you to progress in your CrossFit workouts. Such skills and drills, basic or otherwise, will allow you to develop strength moves and variations in your personal training. All of these movements are based on form and the progression toward form with strength. Small moves will bring great rewards – you don’t rush these movements, you LEARN them!

“I will be hosting the certifications in order to expand the use of gymnastic skills and drills for those wanting to obtain proper form and use of gymnastics elements in CrossFit training. Proper execution of skills and drills for rings, parallettes, high bar/pull up bars, handstands. Emphasis will be on a multitude of movements including levers, planches, handstands, handstand pushups, dislocates, skin the cat, ground work, L-sits, muscle ups and much more. I want to challenge all comers with gymnastic moves but also show the importance of proper spotting, safety, while teaching the skill cues so trainers or trainees can pass on proper gymnastic movements in their workouts. There will be lecture and practical application of all drills taught with lots of Q & A. Not to mention my Texas sized humor will delight all those within earshot ;-) ”  — Jeff Tucker
