Christina grew up in Chapel Hill dancing and doing musical theater. Her first movement teaching gigs were choreographing for her high school chorus concerts and musicals.
Christina has been dancing, performing, and teaching since, receiving a BA in Modern Dance from the George Washington University. She got into fitness after college, collecting certifications in Hatha Yoga and Pilates mat and apparatus. She expanded her own fitness practice working out at Crossfit Durham, and with her mixed martial arts coach, Jeff Purefoy. She became a licensed massage therapist and practiced for two years, and did some graduate work in dance at UNCG. She then certified as a personal trainer at Durham Technical Community College, and continues to study anatomy and movement through workshops and courses. She has been working locally as a dance teacher, Pilates trainer, fitness trainer and instructor for over a decade.
Christina is endlessly interested in anatomy and movement, and enjoys how various recovery modalities afford her the ability to continue to exercise, dance, and do martial arts largely without pain and injury. She enjoys seeing her students and clients discover a deeper relationship with their bodies as they develop the super-power of body awareness.
